Hello! My name is Brittany McMaster and this is my first semester in the MLIS Program. I would love to become a Children's or Youth Librarian in the future. I particularly love working with children and I couldn't think of anything more rewarding :).

Probably no surprise here, but I really enjoy reading! Some of my favorite works include the oldies but goodies: "To Kill a Mockingbird," and "The Catcher in the Rye"--stereotypical, I know! I just can't help it. A few others include, "The Fountainhead," and "John Lennon: The Life." I also really enjoy the works of Flannery O'Connor and for a fun read, I'll take on anything by David Sedaris.

Other than reading, I am obsessed with music. As you may have noticed above, I'm a huge John Lennon fan and I absolutely adore The Beatles. My music taste also follows the oldies but goodies theme: Janis Joplin, Queen, Tom Petty, Sex Pistols, Bob Dylan, Elvis Presley, and The Kinks (among many others!). I also love Kings of Leon, Mumford and Sons, Florence + the Machine, Adele, Andrew McMahon, Paramore, and Fun.

One more obsession of mine is movies! Edward Scissorhands, Forrest Gump, 50/50, Titanic, Scarface, Easy A, It's A Wonderful Life, The Exorcist (EEK!), Gladiator, Pocahontas, Lawless, Blow, Warm Bodies, Walk Hard, and Road to Perdition are just a few of my favorites!

The last thing I adore is BAKING. I love the process of baking in general and I love eating it all. Chocolate can do wonders!
