I know everyone has a place that they are from, but being from New Orleans has really shaped me. It has made me open to many possibilities. When people think of New Orleans they think of just Mardi Gras and Bourbon street. When I think of New Orleans I think of all the different cultural aspects to it. I have been so lucky to grow up with all types of food, people, music, and art around me. It made me grow up faster and become more independent because everything happens so fast in New Orleans. I remember in elementary school my friends and I would walk places in the city on our own. My friends think of that as weird, but that is normal to me. Since I grew up sucking the juice out of the heads of crawfish, I can pretty much eat anything that is put in front of me. New Orleans also taught me that I love to run because I loved seeing all the different artwork and houses around the city while I was working out. I grew up in an unsafe city, but now when all of my friends are scared to be home alone I can comfort them. I believe that where I am from is what is interesting about me.
