"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11. I have always remembered this verse from going to church when I was little, but it never truly had meaning until I found out I was pregnant at sixteen years old. When I found out I was pregnant I was in shock and just didn't know what something like this would hold for my future. I had dreams of going to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to pursue becoming a doctor. I wasn't going to let this news put a stop to those plans though. Instead I took action right away and ended up graduating high school a year early and immediately after started attending the community college in my hometown. I completed my associates this past May and then started attending North Carolina Central University in July. I am now working on completing my Bachelors in Pharmaceutical Science here at Central, and I then hope to transfer to Duke University's Physician Assistant program. I want to work for a few years as a PA, and then - if I feel like I am in a stable place in my life - I will go back to Duke and study to become a MD in pediatrics.

My baby girl is turning three next month, and she is without a doubt the best thing in my life. I am so grateful to have her. I am also thankful to have an amazing family who have supported me in all that i do. And then there is Dallas. He is this amazing guy, who is definitely the best boy friend I have ever had. He is loving, encouraging, smart, too cute, and he is my best friend. I don't know for sure what my future holds, but I hope that Dallas remains a part of it for a long time and that I succeed in becoming a physician assistant, so that I can be a role model for my daughter.
