My Name is Britton Hoots. I am a student at the University of Georgia and am currently living on campus in Black-Diallo-Miller Hall. Prior to coming to Athens, I lived in Oconee county, which is not too far away from campus but still separate. One of my favorite hobbies to do outside of high school was working. How could working be a hobby you may ask? Well, I waS fortunate enough to work at a golf course called “The Georgia Club”, which was about 20 minutes away from where I lived. I started working at TGC, (The Georgia Club), when I turned sixteen and continued to work there whenever I could for the better part of three years leading up to college. The reason I look at my years spent at TGC with such positivity is because everyday, the manager would assign you a new job to do in order to take care of the course. Because of this, the job rarely got boring and there was always something to improve on. The time would go by so fast and I also was fortunate enough to have some of my friends working with me. My favorite job to be assigned was a job called “Set Up”. During this job, I got to set the hole and pin up on each green and choose where the tee markers would be that day. It was a peaceful and fulfilling way to start the work day. I will always be thankful for my job and my experience working at TGC golf course and I hope to return to work there when I can.
