Isaiah 58:6 “Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen; to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?”

Cause

Everyday young adults fall under the burden of a history or background of abuse, neglect, and addiction because they are trying to succeed without a Christ centered community. There are currently 166 children in the foster care system in just Lauderdale and Colbert Co over 60% of those children are already over 15 years old, and will “age out” in less than 3 years, and our communities have no plan in place to help them fulfill the potential that Jesus has placed inside of them. 70% of trafficking victims report a history of foster care. 87% of young men who age out of the system will spend time in jail, many for crimes related to survival. 71% of young ladies become pregnant in the first year out of care. 97% of young adults without safe community support to lean on end up in chronic poverty or worse.

Organization

Broken Yoke Ministries is determined to serve these at risk young people and alter these statistics. Broken Yoke Ministries is a Christ centered outreach organization that exists to serve the abused, neglected, and abandoned children of God as outlined in Isaiah 58 in Jesus’ name.

Impact

To achieve this goal Broken Yoke Ministries has vision to acquire 51 acres in the Shoals area of North Alabama to build Prosper(Us) Community. A master designed, self-sustaining, independent living community that is made up of 4 programs: Prosper(Us) Community, Industry(Us) Careers, Advantage(Us) Connections, and Glory(Us) Callings.

Programs

Prosper(Us) Community: Safe affordable housing program that teaches structure, service, and sustainability.

Industry(Us) Career:On site job training programs designed to teach respect, responsibility, and reaching goals.

Advantage(Us) Connections:World-class mentorship program that teaches maintaining healthy relationships, sustaining healthy habits, and building healthy networks.

Glory(Us) Calling:Practical ministry training program focused on discovering how our one-of-a-kind journey in life uniquely qualifies US to impact the world for Christ.
