Bron Christensen
Consultant, Small Business Owner, and Mother in Theodore, Australia
With the Dawson River running through her blood, her toes deep in the Banana Shire soil, Bronwyn is a fourth generation to Theodore where she calls home, on a grazing property with her husband and 3 children – Piper, Bridie and Mackenzie.
After heading off in her younger years to enrich her life with University, work and travel she and her husband Lindsay returned to Theodore in 2001 to raise their planned family and purchased ‘Tatiara”, a mixed cattle and cropping property.
Bron believes in the future of small, rural towns and all they can offer to families! She is enthusiastic about opportunities to capitalize on local skills, local attractions and local employment to secure government and corporate services in rural towns.
Over the years Bron has fulfilled a diverse range of rolls within the Community on various Committees engaging with both committee and community members. Bronwyn has had the privilege of holding Executive positions for a length of time on the Theodore District Health Council, Theodore Council on the Ageing, Theodore Pony Club and Moura School of Ballet – Theodore and Taroom Branch.
Bron believes that health, education and employment options are the key to a sustainable future for our rural communities – if these services are secure, then other industries can grow and prosper.
Currently a Board member of the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service and sitting on the Finance Committee of that organization, she is also a Committee member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors Central Queensland committee. As well as proudly holding the title of the President of the Theodore Hospital Auxiliary.
Whilst Bron has done her time mustering and in the cattle yards, she is happy to leave some of this (particularly in this heat) to Lindsay and the kids whilst she contracts to Cotton Australia as the Regional Manager for Dawson and Callide; and as Company Secretary for Theodore Water Pty Ltd.
“It’s not about geography – it’s about your passion to fulfill the role!”
With an approachable manner, Bronwyn believes her cocktail of passion, experience, dedication, belief and your support will help Division 6 Develop and Thrive.
“I am passionate about the sustainability of small, rural communities and that is why I am a candidate in the Banana Shire Council’s Division 6 by-election. I believe in keeping services in our towns, about seeking opportunities for all our communities to th
