Bronwen Halliwell
Nurse Bronwen Halliwell, a graduate of the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, has extensive experience working with patients in labor and postpartum care. She has earned recognition for her excellence in obstetrics honed over a decade of practice. At hospitals throughout the United States, including at Tampa General, Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, and UCLA Hospital (now known as Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center) in Los Angeles, Bronwen Halliwell provided nursing assistance to women in labor and patients receiving postpartum care for the 72 hours following birth. At Aspen Valley Hospital in Aspen, Colorado, Bronwen Halliwell served as Charge Nurse and Lactation Consultant working in labor and delivery, postpartum care, and the Level 2 Nursery. At her most recent nursing position, at Valley View Hospital, Bronwen Halliwell had her knowledge of obstetrics put to the test. She worked with patients undergoing traditional and cesarean births, and cared for newborns requiring complex care, including oxygen, IV care, continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) to assist with breathing, and newborn monitoring in the Level 2 Nursery. In 2007, Brownen Halliwell examined a patient who recently arrived to the hospital, and based on her knowledge and experience, discovered that the baby’s cord was dislocated (prolapsed), threatening to cut off the newborn’s blood supply. After initiating the obstetrical emergency protocol, Bronwen Halliwell remained with the patient to maintain blood supply to the baby before the operating time arrived to perform a cesarean birth. Both the mother and newborn were doing well after the procedure, and the hospital recognized Bronwen Halliwell for excellence during an obstetrical emergency. Currently living in Miami, Florida, Bronwen Halliwell now works as a Sales and Marketing Representative for Infusion Technologies, Inc., overseeing the safe prescription and delivery of outpatient medication services.
