Brooke Katterhenry

Major:Kinesiology/Pre-Physical Therapy, Minors in Spanish and Leadership, Senior

Process of deciding on a major:When deciding on a major, I looked to my passion in helping and working with people as well as my interests in science and math. I also participated in many sports in high school and enjoyed being mobile, so I decided to pursue a degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Pre-Physical Therapy. I continued to enjoy the time I spent shadowing Physical Therapists and fingers crossed, I have still not changed my major while in college.

Why students should come to ACIC:Deciding on a major or career path is a difficult decision, but ACIC is a great resource for students to help in the decision process. ACIC provides a multitude of resources that can help students decide on a major or career that will match their interests.

How ACIC has helped me?ACIC has helped me to discover that I am following in the perfect career path for me, and has provided me with all of the resources to help me along the way. ACIC has also enlightened me on all of the different career paths one can follow in a certain major and vice versa.

Career Path:After I graduate from Kansas State University, I hope to attend Physical Therapy school and obtain my doctorate in Physical Therapy!

Especially passionate about helping:people, especially those in need.

Interests and involvement on campus:Gamma Phi Beta sorority, Johnson County Ambassadors, Up 'Til Dawn, Pre-Physical Therapy Club, Christian Challenge.

Top Strength and how it is used in ACIC:My top strengths are Achiever, Positivity, Includer, Arranger, and Woo. However, I use the Includer strength the most while working in the office. I want the student to feel comfortable and that their voice is the most important. I try to listen with an open ear and include all possible major and career options to explore.
