In terms of my biography I can show who I am best through film making. Through film, I feel as if I have a certain power to not only express myself, but to impact the audience, to make them feel a certain way, and to allow them to engage with a certain idea. Film has the unique ability to combine sight and sound to wholly impact a person, and my language of film is a way to make this communication happen—through the eyes of a camera.

Before this impact can happen, and even before shooting can happen, there is a planning process. I had to learn that once an idea is established, the team must accept that some failures are inevitable. Instead of becoming discouraged by this, I get excited to have so many different options to use when I put together the final piece.

The last step comes in when you can take one shot and make it portray a million different emotions. Film gives you the opportunity to add your own creativity into every angle you choose to use, every soundtrack you add, and every sound adjustment you make. I feel that with my films, I can bring one idea from just a mere thought in my head to something on the big screen, and further into something that I never thought could come to life. That is, in a nutshell, why I love the art of film. I don’t just create films because I think they are enjoyable— I do it for the feeling of getting to see emotions provoked in my audience that they never would have felt if they hadn’t seen my art. Knowing I can make a lasting change on my audience gives me all the reason I need to continue pursuing film.
