Hi, I’m Brooklyn and I enjoy writing, reading, and crafting in my free time. I am running for grade eight representative and would love to tell you why I’d be a good candidate.

I believe a good grade eight representative should be easy to talk to as well as always open to people’s ideas and compromising or discussing whether an idea could work. I love hearing others' ideas and try my best so others are heard. I enjoy hearing people’s ideas to explore their thinking and minds as well. I understand that many students struggle with fitting in or with their self-esteem too though. I'd love to discuss ways we can encourage students to support one another, make everyone feel included, and remind them that they don't have to face things alone.

I want everyone to feel comfortable talking to me. I enjoy getting to know different people and being someone that others can come to for help or a conversation. I feel I've already built that relationship with some people. I believe listening is just as equal to speaking. A good representative should also be approachable so students feel comfortable coming to them with ideas or concerns. Even so, if some people are uncomfortable with sharing ideas physically, I'd love to discuss or debate an anonymous suggestion box for people to share their ideas.

Additionally, I also believe a good representative should be equal with everyone, even if they disagree, they should always listen, discuss, and compromise instead of dismissing an idea they don't like themselves.
