Hey everyone,

I am a junior operations and information management major within the Isenberg School of Management and Commonwealth Honors College at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. I am also working to minor in information technology and hope to begin a long and successful career in supply chain management or logistics upon graduation. I currently work as a screening analyst as part of the Minuteman Project at State Street Corporation and am an active member of the Operations and Information Club. Pursuing my education to the best of my abilities has always been an important goal, but I am a strong believer that life should never be all work and no play.
The outdoors has become my playground and western Massachusetts has spoiled me. Whether it is biking to and swimming across Puffer’s Pond or hiking the cliffs of Mt. Tom, I just can’t get enough. And when the weather tries to turn on me, I strap on the skis and pursue the fresh powder of Vermont and New Hampshire. I have been skiing since the age of six and the mountain has begun to feel like another home. The fresh air of the outdoors always seems to calm my nerves and help me to relax after a long week of schoolwork or a frustrating day on the job.
The outdoors has become much more than just skiing and hiking for me. It is a balancing force, the “play” in my life. It is my release from the full schedule of courses and work. I can relax for a bit and remember to appreciate the life I live and the world I am living in. And for that reason alone, I will always be looking for a new trail or a faster way down the mountain.
