Pete Brownell

Descending from a long line of gunsmithing professionals and enthusiasts, Pete Brownell currently serves as President of Brownells, the world’s largest supplier of gunsmithing tools, parts, and accessories. Established by Pete Brownell’s grandfather in 1939, Brownells possesses an exemplary reputation within the industry. In his capacity as President, Pete Brownell upholds his family’s tradition of providing high-quality products and services.

In addition to his role as President of Brownells, Pete Brownell serves as a committee member of the National Rifle Association (NRA), in which he holds Life Membership. Wielding a unique insight into the industry, as well as a strong commitment to Second Amendment rights, Pete Brownell recently announced his intention to run for a seat on the NRA Board of Directors. Since stepping into his executive leadership role at Brownells, Pete Brownell has contributed to and supported numerous NRA programs.

Pete Brownell also maintains extensive experience within a number of other industry-related organizations. Pete Brownell presently sits on the Boards of Knife Rights, the USA Shooting Team Foundation, and the National Association of Sporting Goods Wholesalers.

As an active member of the firearms and gunsmithing sector, Pete Brownell believes in giving back to the industry as well as to organizations that support it. To this end, Pete Brownell played an instrumental role in hosting a gun-testing event for Pheasants Forever, a nonprofit conservation organization. Pete Brownell will also host Brownells Gunsmith Career Fair, which affords an opportunity for gunsmiths, gunsmithing students, and gunsmithing graduates to meet with some of the biggest names in the business.

Pete Brownell matriculated at the University of Iowa’s Henry B. Tippie School of Management, from which he earned his MBA. Pete Brownell also holds a BBA from the University of Iowa.
