Bruce Hunnisett
Musician in Hong Kong
I am Jazz saxophonist playing tenor, alto and soprano saxophone, doubling on flute and clarinet. Based in Hong Kong since Summer 2014, I moved to Hong Kong to expand my teaching and playing opportunities, after spending a couple of great years in Seoul, South Korea.
I split my time in Hong Kong between performing with various bands across all sorts of genres, recording online sessions for several artists based abroad, and teaching woodwind at the prestigious Kellett International school in Hong Kong.
I graduated from Salford University in 1995 where I studied saxophone with Andy Scott and Gerard McChrystal achieving a First class honours degree in Band Musicianship, and receiving the "Goff Richards" award for best jazz performer. Since leaving college I have performed professionally in many commercial situations from musicals and cabaret through to session work with various bands and artists.
I have lead several of my own jazz groups, written music for several projects and have released several CDs, including the critically acclaimed "Dark Circles" solo album, and the saxophone-piano duet album "High on the Mountain" with UK based jazz pianist Robin Joiner.
