Though he initially studied secondary education in college and had career aspirations to teach high school math and coach wresting, Bruce ultimately decided to attend law school, where he graduated ninth overall in a class of 360 students. After receiving his law degree, he worked in the Office of the Utah Attorney General as a clerk, and then in the Salt Lake City District Attorney’s Office as a prosecutor in the criminal division. In 1980, Bruce became the first Judge of West Valley City, where he served for three years, until opening a private practice that would eventually become Larsen, Larsen, Nash & Larsen. Bruce Larsen focuses his practice on criminal defense, personal injury and estate planning. He is a founding partner of Larsen, Larsen, Nash & Larsen.
