Bruce Braun

My name is Bruce Braun. I didn’t graduate with the rest of my senior class of 1964, since I spent my senior year on the road with a professional road show and big band called Music for Modern Americans, a safe driving assembly program sponsored by the Chrysler Corp. During 1964, I traveled in all contiguous 48 states and Canada performing more than 500 shows and performing as many as 5 HS assemblies a day and more shows on week ends.

In 1965 I returned to Glenbard East to finish high school. Upon graduation I competed in the Youth for Christ National music competition and was one of three national finalists.

In the summer of 1965 I then travelled to Europe with a select group of Christian musicians, touring extensively in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Upon returning from Europe, I’d received a music scholarship from Fort Wayne Bible College where I attended as a second semester freshman, majoring in music. While carrying a course load of 23 hours, I also travelled weekends with the college brass ensemble, a group called the Singing Collegians and performed command performances around the mid-west as a representative soloist for Youth for Christ. Concurrently taught private lessons at the college as an adjunct brass instructor and at a studio in a neighboring town.

After two years I decided to go back on the road as a professional musician, travelling to more than 30 countries around the world with numerous groups including: Music for Modern Americans, the Spurrlows, Continental Singers and Orchestra, a USO show, New Hope Singers and a Rock & Roll group called Renaissance.

I then moved from Wheaton Illinois to Minneapolis Minnesota and worked as a piano tuner (another of my skills) while attending Elkins Institute where I received all the necessary certifications and licenses to become a Television Broadcast Engineer.

In 1970 I moved to Los Angeles California and began my career in Broadcasting. I worked for numerous TV stations and remote broadcast companies as an Engineer, KNBC, KABC, KHOF, and Compact Video Group, etc. I then attended advanced television production classes at Columbia College of Broadcasting and USC and broke into television production field, working as a freelance Producer/Director for dozens of Agencies including, Coyle Advertising, Asher/Gould, Walter F. Bennett and Russ Reid and Hollywood Pacific Studios.

In 1973 I co-directed a Continental Singers and Orchestra tour to Europe where I met my wife, Bobbie, a flutist in the orchestra. So, 40 years ago, In February of 1974, Bobbie and I were married in Orlando Florida, and travelled back to California to begin our life together.

I continued to produce & direct television and do freelance engineering and worked at ABC TV during the Innsbruck Olympics. In 1976 Bobbie and I moved to Fort Lauderdale Florida, since I had accepted a position as the Director of Communication for Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church (Dr. D. James Kennedy). There I acted as the General Manager and Chief engineer of WAFG FM while creating a nationally syndicated TV series for the church.

December of 1977, I accepted a position as the head of the television department and Producer/Director of a nationally syndicated program originating from the Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, VA. While there, I wrote, produced, directed and edited more than 800 national prime time television shows, TV specials and documentaries. Concurrently I would frequently fly to California to continue production on a national TV series I had directed for 22 years as well as directing National TV specials for World Vision.

In 1984 I left Thomas Road Baptist Church to head up an international team of producers, directors and television engineers world-wide to produce the largest interactive international video teleconference in the history of communication; reported by the BBC to be larger than the Olympics, Live Aid and the royal wedding combined. Originating out of London England with uplink sites on all continents the event was called Explo 85 and transmitted through every international available at the time while being simulcast worldwide for four days in 47 simultaneous languages.

In 1985, I formed Creative Teleproductions, Inc.; a full service television production company. Over the course of 25 years, I produced thousands of TV commercials, documentaries, prime time television specials, video teleconferences, corporate video, custom 3D animations and televised music specials including; ballet, marching bands, symphony orchestras, choirs, Opera, etc. God has blessed with more work than I could have imagined;, no advertising just through good ‘ole word-of-mouth satisfied clients

I’ve been fortunate enough to produce a Presidential campaign, acted as show director for the Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic and World Marshall arts Championships hosted by Arnold and Chuck Norris for several years, was Director of Television Broadcast Operations for the 1996 Titanic Expedition,
