Bruce Allen Propst, a committed educator and community leader, worked as a classroom teacher for more than 30 years in Virginia and West Virginia. In Morgan County, West Virginia, for the first part of his career, he later spent 12 years in Berkeley County. Bruce Allen Propst subsequently relocated to Leesburg, Virginia, where he worked in the public school system for 13 years.

While working in the public schools, Mr. Propst maintained an active involvement with the PTA and regularly participated in state educational conferences. Since retiring from the classroom, he has also served as a cosmetologist in Maryland and a fashion consultant on a local radio station. Recently, he has become highly involved in community service efforts. For example, he founded the Aids Network of the Tri-state Area and volunteers regularly with a local hospice, providing care and transportation to patients, offering grief counseling to families, and training others in this important function.

Bruce Allen Propst graduated from Shepherd College with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and subsequently earned a master of education in curriculum and instruction at West Virginia University. A Master Teacher, he was named an Outstanding Young Man of America in 1985. He belongs to the National Education Association and is licensed by the Maryland Board of Cosmetologists.
