Bruce Alonso

Alpharetta, Georgia

In 1972, summa cum laude graduate Bruce Alonso received his Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the Emory University Goizueta Business School in Atlanta, Georgia.

With his family in mind, Mr. Alonso moved back to his birthplace, Tampa, Florida, to help with the daily management of United Coffee & Tea, his family’s coffee and tea import store. However, after running the business for some years, Mr. Alonso decided to sell it and go into the financial industry.

After selling United Coffee & Tea in 1980, Bruce Alonso started work for Morgan Stanley & Co. Inc. At Morgan Stanley, Mr. Alonso served in positions of increasing responsibility, moving from Southeast Regional Manager to Eastern Division Manager and then to National Sales Director. In 2004, Mr. Alonso earned a promotion to Vice Chairman of Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. After 25 years with the company, Bruce Alonso retired from Morgan Stanley in 2005.

These days, Bruce Alonso lends his financial talents to his community as Treasurer on the Board of Directors of the Homeowner’s Association at Country Club of the South, a golf community north of Atlanta. As one of nine board members, he lends to his leadership and expertise to the management of the 733-home community. In addition, he also acts as part of the Finance Committee at his church. In his free time, Bruce Alonso’s hobbies include going on golfing and fishing trips.
