Based in Connecticut, independent classic car enthusiast Bruce Amster facilitates vintage automobile buyers and sellers from around the world. He travels internationally to countries such as England, France, and Italy to prospect and assess rare sports cars for his clients. During his research trips, he frequently attends major auto shows such as the Rétromobile Exhibition and Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este. Drawing on more than 50 years of experience in collectible car, Bruce Amster also acts as a unpaid research advisor for Redline Restorations, a facility owned by his son that focuses on the restoration of old Ferrari and Alfa Romeo models.
A collector and restoration enthusiast in his own right, Bruce Amster has presented prize-winning cars at several auto exhibitions. He took the J Mays Design Award at the 2014 Hemmings Motor News Concours d’Elegance with his 1937 Bugatti Type 57S. At the 2007 Hamptons Concours d’Elegance, Mr. Amster entered a flawlessly preserved 1939 Alfa Romeo that won first prize.
In his free time, Bruce Amster enjoys watching science fiction and action movies, listening to rock music, and dining out at Italian restaurants. He also maintains an appreciation of Slavic cuisine, a taste he developed while living inside the Soviet Union for a time during his younger days.
