Bruce DarConte
Realtor and Nonprofit President in Washington, DC
In 2013, I founded a 501(c)3 non-profit organization called Near Southeast Community Partners in Washington DC. NSCP has funded technology, athletic equipment, STEM labs, art supplies and more for our schools. We funded a new fitness center, sewing classes for seniors, laptops, recreation equipment and more for the local community center to help keep kids off the streets. The DC area has received over $700,000 in grants in the last 3 years.
I have a passion for community work, mostly working with schools and the environment. NSCP created the DCPS "Feeder Series" and "Principal Roundtable". This unique series brings our local public schools together to network about diversity, feeding our middle schools, enrollment data, school safety and more. Our principal roundtable brings together Council Members, MPD, school data experts, senior DCPS officials and principals from at least 14 schools to help ensure that students get the best possible education. We fund "the "Floating Library", which introduces students to the Anacostia River by teaching a class out on the water.
The Near Southeast Community needed an organization to manage contributions from corporations & other organizations in the area.
The NSCP Board has decades of experience and is the perfect conduit for this purpose. Visit www.nscpartners.org and view ourtestimonials and awards page to learn more but us.
I graduated in June 2016 from the Georgetown University McCourt School of Public Policy Non-Profit Executive Management Program.
