I am a hands-on entrepreneur with many hobbies and interests, and the co-founder of a fun black tie party called the "Capital City Ball", which is held the Saturday before Thanksgiving. I was born in Washington DC and grew up in Suburban Maryland. As an entrepreneur, I’ve been involved a variety of businesses, including everything from hauling, excavation and landscaping, to publishing books, selling computers, and helping small businesses with office automation, sales and marketing, and computer maintenance. One of my main hobbies is discovering, exploring and mapping caves. Over the past two years, I’ve discovered about a dozen “virgin” caves, most of which required extensive digging and small scale blasting to get into. I’m a member of the National Speleological Society and The West Virginia Association of Cave Studies. The books I’ve written and/or published include a biography about the inventor of television, a self help book for immigrants, plus several computer-related books. All received good reviews and got nice coverage in national media, including Wired, PC Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, CNN, Fox News, and Book TV. Publishing provided me with a great first-hand education in public relations and promoting products nationally. In 2000, after writing one of the first books about downloading music, I went on a 12 month, 100 city book tour and did interviews on dozens of radio and television shows, including ABC News, CNN Headline News and Tech TV.. Currently, I help small business owners with sales and marketing, computer and network maintenance, and strategic planning. I also help maintain two horse farms and do grading, excavation and driveway maintenance for friends and neighbors. I’m always interested in working with other entrepreneurs to start new ventures or expand existing businesses. I’m a good team player and am used to wearing a lot of hats in fast paced chaotic environments. Whatever I do, the most important thing is for me to work with a group of passionate and talented people.
