Bruce Gurnick
Teacher in Los Angeles, California
Taught for thirteen years at South Gate High and then twenty two years at Reseda High I began as a science, biology and chemistry teacher, but early on moved into the world of computers and never looked back.
Two years ago, I took a position working with the LAUSD Common Core Technology Project/Instructional Technology Initiative where I provided intensive support to school communities integrating one to one computing solutions into their high school curriculum. This was among the most enjoyable, meaningful, and fulfilling two years of my career.
Now for the foreseeable future I return to the classroom at James Monroe HS as a Biology and Science teacher. I have returned to my roots teaching science.
Supporting me through life's journey is my wife and best friend, Ellen. Assisting Ellen, are a loving Maltipoo, a turtle and a tortoise, a cockateel, and an almost endless array of semi-eclectic potted plants and of course my son and daughter, Stephen and Heather.
