An established leader in the education field, Bruce Houck has spent the last 36 years in a variety of educational and administrative roles. He has served as Southwest Educational Cooperative (SWEC) superintendent in Minnesota since 2015, a position that involves oversight of all schools in the Russell-Tyler-Ruthton Public Schools district, the Lynd Public Schools district, and the Hendricks Public Schools district. Since assuming his leadership role with SWEC, Bruce Houck has planned and implemented $10 million in district spending and directed grants totaling $3.6 million. Prior to assuming his current position with SWEC, he spent 14 years as superintendent for the Russell-Tyler-Ruthton district.

Bruce Houck, a graduate of the University of South Dakota’s master of educational administration program, began his career in education as a teacher at Donnybrook Public School in Donnybrook, North Dakota. After spending time as superintendent of Solen Public Schools, he joined the Bonesteel and Fairfax Public Schools district as an elementary school principal and superintendent. Between 1997 and 2001, he led as superintendent of the Webster Public Schools district.
