Bruce Primeau

Bruce has been in the financial services industry for over 18 years and started Summit Wealth Advocates (SWA) in 2010. Prior to forming SWA Bruce spent the last 10 years with two prominent Twin Cities Wealth Management firms. Bruce also worked as a Certified Public Accountant with a CPA firm in Plymouth, specializing in tax planning and preparation for executives and business owners.

While working full time, Bruce attended the University of St. Thomas and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1993 with a B.A. Degree in Accounting. He achieved an Outstanding High Score on the November 1993 CPA Exam.

Working as an advisor, Bruce passed the Certified Financial Planner Exam in 2003 and achieved the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designation awarded by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

In 2007 Bruce became the first partner at his prior firm and was responsible for managing 70 to 80 client relationships. He was responsible for new client development as well as staff mentoring and management. He was also a member of the investment committee and helped formulate low-cost investment strategies for clients.

“I love being a financial advisor” says Bruce. I thrive on helping my clients plan for and achieve their financial goals as it makes me feel good to know that I have helped a special group of people plan for retirement, save taxes, put their children through college, purchase a home and achieve many other financial goals.” Bruce adds, “I personalize my relationships with my clients as most of them are dealing with many of the same financial issues that my family and I are dealing with. From personal experience, I know it’s difficult for a family to stay on top of their finances given their busy schedules and I feel that we, as advisors, bring a tremendous value to each relationship by allowing families to focus on enjoying their time together instead of trying to find time to manage their finances.”

Bruce specializes in working with families with complex financial situations including concentrated stock / options, multi-generational wealth planning, and multi-year estate and income tax minimization strategies. “I enjoy educating my clients on the numerous opportunities they have available to them, as well as coaching them regarding which ones I believe they should be leveraging,” says Bruce.
