Bryan Warsaw

After graduating from the University of Southern California, I moved to Beijing in March of 2008. After a short stint as a language student, I joined the National Basketball Association's China headquarters in the Global Merchandising Group to begin my career learning about the licensing and sports product business.

During the two years I spent with NBA China, in both Beijing and Shanghai, I was able to gain experience working with NBA licensees including adidas, Spalding and over 30 local Chinese companies. Additionally, I assisted in opening eight NBA Stores in six cities, including the first NBA Store located outside of the United States. As part of the NBA Store team, I worked with suppliers in merchandise planning and buying to help coordinate assortment plans across thirty vendors. I was also able to gain visual merchandise experience and project management skills, as well as personally preparing store tours for visiting NBA dignitaries, including former NBA Champions and legends. My experience demonstrated to me the importance of branding at the retail level in product features, values and visual merchandising. Finally, I spearheaded the creation and development of our online product showcase and used database management to track and organize NBA Store inventory.

I returned to the United States in September of 2010, and I am interested in pursuing a career in the product management field. From my experience on the brand and retail side, my work history will help me provide good perspective to make the connection to consumers at retail. I have been privileged enough to personally witness the production cycle from the factory floor to the store shelf to the hands of the consumer, and I know my abilities and background would make a great addition to your company.
