Bryan Augsburger
Public Speaker in Arlington Heights, Illinois
I serve as a pastor at First Baptist Church in Arlington Heights, Illinois; have been married to Jeanie for 34 years, and we have two children. I grew up on the south side of Chicago, where my father was pastor of a Baptist church. I moved to the Denver area where I continued my education and married my wife, Jeanie. My undergraduate degree is in trumpet performance and Bible; I then went to seminary to prepare for pastoral ministry earning my Master of Divinity degree.
During my college years my desires continued to grow toward the pastorate and preaching. The Lord began to use Titus 1:9 in my life, “Holding fast the faithful word as he has been taught, that he may be able, by sound doctrine, both to exhort and convict those who contradict.”
Later in my ministry the Lord allowed me the opportunity to take some courses at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. This resulted in finishing the work necessary to receive a Doctor of Ministry degree, writing my project on preaching. My goal is to have expository messages that are rooted in the Bible, but full of applications that move people toward maturity in Christ.
I have the opportunity to mentor young pastors, teach preaching seminars, write articles; I am a member of the Evangelical Homiletics Society and have served on the Council of Eighteen, an advisory board for the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches.
