I am a jack of many trades and a master of some. I have a craving for knowledge and find myself learning something new every day. Because of this, my hobbies and skills grow constantly as well. I also find that the two converge more and more all the time.
My name is Bryan Glover and I am quite the diverse individual.
I enjoy a wide range of things; especially if they deal in technology. I love video games and various forms of media (videos and music). I do not, however, simply enjoy them as forms of entertainment. I like to figure out the inner workings of how they are created. I am constantly looking for how things work. I also recently discovered a knack I have for HTML and web-design. I still have much to learn, but when I enjoy something, I find myself learning very quickly.
I have a very elaborate music background, with experience in theory, aural skills, performance and even a bit of education. I primarily play classical (yes I said classical) saxophone. Aside from that, however, I also play some keyboard, clarinet and I am working on teaching myself instruments like guitar, banjo and mandolin.
What interests me specifically is sound design. I aspire to be that ‘behind-the-scenes’ guy who works on sound effects, soundtracks, or ambient sound-scape type things. Whenever I play a game or watch a show, I find myself asking: “how did they get that sound effect”? or “Why did they choose this sound here”? These are the questions that I would like to answer in my career.
While I could probably say much more about myself, this is what comes to mind currently in the scope of my academic and professional aspirations.
