Bryan L. Miller
Coconut Creek, Florida
Bryan Miller serves as the Director of Educational Technology for Pine Crest School and has been with the school for the past two years. Originally from Bucks County, Pennsylvania, he has spent his entire life working with children and being an avid user of technology. Bryan came to Pine Crest two years ago as an Educational Technologist, after teaching at Pennsbury School District for five years in Yardley, Pennsylvania, as a computer teacher for kindergarten through fifth grade. Prior to teaching in public school, Bryan worked at Keystone College, the college he graduated from, as the Blackboard Administrator and Manager of Media Services. After the first half of his first year at Pine Crest, Bryan advanced from Educational Technologist and filled the role of Director of Educational Technology.
Bryan has focused his years at Pine Crest School in leading the Department of Educational Technology and developing relationships with the faculty and staff. He has lead the way with integrating iPads into the curriculum at Pine Crest, and has become a resource for many schools in South Florida looking to implement iPads. In addition, Bryan and other faculty members have worked with a new local company, Nearpod, on an iPad App, where Pine Crest School was one of the first schools in the country to implement this tool into the classroom, and is featured on their website.
Bryan’s years at Pine Crest has been very rewarding for him. He and his department designed and developed policies and procedures for the department and the school, as well as developed a technology continuum for students. He also started an after school robotics program in the Lower and Middle School on the Fort Lauderdale campus. His next goals are to further excite and empower the faculty to use technology more in the classroom, develop additional professional development workshops and resources, and develop a technology continuum for teachers.
