After taking courses in sociology at West Virginia State University, Bryan Specht transferred to Ohio University, where he earned his Bachelor of Specialized Studies in American Ethnic Studies. In later years, Bryan Specht continued his education by taking courses in campaign management and communications at The George Washington University, as well as classes in public affairs at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. Following the completion of his undergraduate studies, Bryan Specht joined Bill Clinton’s 1996 presidential campaign, serving in a number of roles in the pursuit of the President’s reelection.

After the campaign, Mr. Specht went to Washington, D.C., to serve Ohio Representative Ted Strickland as his Special Assistant and Senior Advisor. During the following election cycle, Mr. Specht served Congressman Strickland as his Campaign Manager. Mr. Specht’s next position came as a Detailee for the White House. Soon after, he moved to New Jersey to assist Senator Bill Bradley during his bid for the Democratic nomination in the 2000 Presidential election. Then in 2000, Bryan Specht performed as Deputy Chief of Staff for Senator Bradley’s replacement, Senator Robert Torricelli.

In 2001, Bryan Specht entered the private sector at the Washington, D.C., office of Weber Shandwick, a communications consultant and public relations firm. Originally acting as Director in the Issues and Crisis Management Practice division, Bryan Specht eventually moved to the company’s Chicago, Illinois, branch. There, he served as Executive Vice President and took a role on the Executive Leadership Team for 4 years, winning Employee of the Year in 2004.

Today, Bryan Specht assists Dig Communications as its Chief Operating Officer and Head of Corporate Affairs. At the Chicago-based consulting firm, he aids clients with their branding, public affairs, and corporate responsibility needs. The General Electric Company; Hershey Foods Company; and S. C. Johnson & Son, Inc. account for some of Bryan Specht’s past or current clients. Bryan Specht resides in Elmhurst, Illinois, with his wife and children.
