Elected Official and Engineering Professional in Mishawaka, Indiana

Bryan Tanner attended Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and is a civil engineering professional with over a decade of experience. He currently works at local engineering firm, Lawson-Fisher Associates, where he plans, designs and coordinates roadway and sewer infrastructure projects. Bryan has been married for seven years to his wife, Cari. They have a son Phillip, daughter Charlee, and are guardians of their nephew Anthony.

Mr. Tanner serves as At-Large Councilperson for the City of Mishawaka and is chair of the Public Health and Safety – Long Range Planning Committee. He had previously been a member of the city’s Historic Preservation Commission and Redevelopment Commission.

Bryan has been enveloped in the community his entire life starting with scouting during his early years and earning the rank of Eagle Scout. He continues those community efforts serving as the president of the Mishawaka Lions Club, on the board of directors, and as chair of several committees. Bryan has been awarded a Melvin Jones Fellowship and Lion of the Year as recognition for his contributions to the community through Lions.

As a director for United Way of St. Joseph County and member of the Community Impact Committee within it, Bryan endeavors to eliminate poverty in his community. He is also a member of the Mishawaka Business Association and very active with the South Bend Regional Chamber’s Young Professionals Network. Beyond formal involvement with the organizations previously mentioned, Bryan hosts monthly neighborhood meetings, is a regular blood donor, coaches youth sports, and volunteers for local events.

In recognition of the extensive efforts and achievements in both his profession and community, Mr. Tanner was given a "Michiana Forty Under 40" award in 2017 - identifying him as one of forty professionals under 40 years of age to watch within the 7 county region of North Central Indiana and Southwestern Michigan.

Bryan believes that through enthusiastic involvement, while proudly representing families, neighborhoods, and businesses, we can and will build a stronger community.
