While completing his high school education, Bryan Tornee achieved notice as a football player, attaining several records and a number of honors. He became a finalist for the Hansen Award for top high school football player in Suffolk County, and in the course of one season achieved the most records for touchdowns, yards, and receptions in New York State. In addition to playing in the Long Island High School All-Star game, Bryan Tornee played in the state’s Governor's Bowl.

Following graduation, Bryan Tornee attended Stony Brook University, where he continued playing football as a wide receiver and contributed to numerous wins. He earned his degree in professional communications at Farmingdale State College, from which he graduated with honors.

Since 2013, Tornee has worked with EP Milling and Sweeping in Farmingdale. As an operating engineer with the privately held company, he oversees heavy construction equipment required for asphalt removal in preparation for construction of new roads through contracts with the New York City Department of Transportation.
