After 23 years with The Upper Room, I run an operation called Discipleship Resources, International out of GBOD for the United Methodists, spending most of my time working with a small team enabling, investing in, and assisting church leaders in Africa, the Philippines, and Eastern Europe to write, develop, publish and share contextual resources for ministry and for theological education. We travel a good bit.

Features of the work include Publishing Teams in 14 areas, offering writing seminars and author development, publishing in Africa the "Africa Ministry Series" (books), leading "UM Way Seminars" for lay and clergy leaders, and most recently leading the "E-Readers for Theological Education" campaign to equip seminarians with virtual libraries in areas that have never had any or much access to texts needed for responsible, quality theological education in the United Methodist tradition.

Our e-reader pilot project in Liberia is working! We're now planning how we will take this to 20 more seminaries in Africa and the Philippines over the next two years. Join us! Send me a note.
