Throughout my entire life, videogames have dominated my free time. My first encounter with videogames was when I would play the Playstation 2 with my dad at a young age of four. Every time we played, we would complete any mission in record time. When I got older however, my parents revealed to me that I was never actually playing. My father had just given me an unplugged controller to trick me into thinking I was playing. Unfortunately for them, that was all I needed to get hooked for life. I made my way through multiple generations of consoles, playing and beating countless stories. Every Christmas I would ask for new games and any extra money I had would go to the same place. On the weekends I would easily put in nine plus hours of play time like it was nothing. For most of my life I did not have wifi and every game I played was offline. The whole activity changed once I did get an internet connection. It went form playing through a story that someone created, to making my own stories with friends met from around the world. There have been countless laughs and stories told between people I will probably never meet in my life, but that bond is just as strong as an in-person friendship. Gaming is something that has always been in my life, and as long as it continues to benefit me as much as it does today, it will stay in my life forever.
