I am a technology translator. I work between the "end user" and the technical support to provide the appropriate information to the appropriate party in an attempt to keep everyone happy :) ...or atleast keep things working. My work at The Teaching Center at Washington University in STL involves piloting and researching new instructional technologies, providing pedagogical and basic technical support to faculty using Blackboard, and--in collaboration with other Teaching center staff--providing professional development programs for faculty and graduate students. With a background in chemistry, a lot of the professional development programs are STEM-centered, including a series of workshops dedicated to preparing STEM graduate students and postdocs for faculty positions. Outside of work, I fulfill my need for experimentation in the kitchen--scouring the internet for Real Food inspiration and modifying recipes to fit many food allergy needs.
