Vancouver, British Columbia
I have worked as a teacher in four districts (West Vancouver, New Westminster, Mission and Burnaby) teaching secondary math and science (including IB and AP Biology and Calculus). I graduated from UBC with an honours B.Sc. in 1992, SFU with a PDP diploma in 1995, and UBC with a M.Ed. in 2004. I have been on the executive of the BCAMT (Math Teachers’ association) and EEPSA (Environmental Education).
I am currently the president of the BCASCD, an affiliate of the ASCD, and proud to be the Vice-Principal of Centennial School (grades 9 through 12) in Coquitlam School District (my fifth district and new home). I am also co-moderator for the #bcedchat.
I am interested in how new technologies can improve student learning and teacher learning through the creation of online, collaborative communities. I work with an amazing team of administrators, teachers, counsellors and students, who teach me something new everyday.
I am also a great chef of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese:
