My name is Bryon Smith and I graduated from Royse City High School in 2022/2023. While In high school, I focused on a Forensic Science career field.

I think education plays an important role in a person's life, education helps a person hone certain skills they need for daily life. Education also helps you with almost everything after high school like getting a job, paying the government, or going to another school called college. My education has helped me prepare for life after high school by teaching me social skills, resumes, basic math, and that the Mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell.

I believe literacy means the ability to read and write, but in this day and age with as much technology we have now it is not a big feat compared to past generations. Technology has helped us improve literacy skills drastically over the years. I do believe I am a master of literacy, but like everyone I am always still learning.
To me work ethic means with hard work comes a reward, which is basically how jobs function, you show up, do work, and then you get paid. I may not have an actual job yet, but I am a student who does work at school (sometimes). My past experiences have had little influence on my work ethic. I am a decent student and I do most of my work but once I am ahead I don´t do any work. Good work ethic looks like a capable worker who does all of their work, responsible, dedicated or motivated. It doesn't affect me a lot, but it may affect those around me by motivating them and encouraging them to do better. It may play a huge role in the professional space but, I think adults are more mature and are probably not affected a lot by good work ethic.

I was a top player and a seasoned veteran for quiz bowl and its branches
I am proud of the fact that I have made many good friends in the clubs that I was apart of
I have gained recognition of becoming a captain for my quiz bowl team, and what makes it better is the fact that I was a freshman when I was captain (mostly juniors or seniors are made captain, because of experience)
