Bárbara Silva is an architect, curator, researcher and lecturer of contemporary architecture. She holds a PhD in Architecture Theory from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid), with the thesis Brasil, The Reinvention of Modernity, Le Corbusier, Lúcio Costa, Oscar Niemeyer.

From 2010 she is the Artistic Director and Chief Curator of NOTE - an independent cultural producer dedicated to the dissemination, discussion and debate of architecture and art through a program of exhibitions, events, talks, debates and publications.

As an independent curator, she organized exhibitions in Italy ("Playgrounds, Mansilla & Tuñón", Church of San Silvestro, Vicenza, 2009); Brazil ("Local x Global: architecture as place", Museu da Casa Brasileira, São Paulo, 2014); Portugal (Architecture Season at Boavista Gallery in Lisbon).

She worked with Gonçalo Byrne and Falcão de Campos in Lisbon (2003-2005) and Mansilla and Tuñón and Abalos & Herreros in Madrid (2005-2008). She was a visiting assistant professor at the Polytechnic University of Madrid - Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura (2009-2012); in Facoltà di Architettura di Alghero (2008) and Escola da Cidade - Arquitectura e Urbanismo, São Paulo (2010).
