Saptarshi Bhattacharjee
Software Engineer in Santa Clara, USA
I build the platforms that power products at billion-request scale. I'm a Staff-level Backend & Platform Engineer with 12+ years across Meta, Amazon, and Applied Research Works.
At Meta, I drive capacity efficiency, hardware attribution, and identity resolution for the Ads & Monetization stack, and I'm building the agent-mesh infrastructure that coordinates AI agents across on-call incidents and triage.
Before Meta, I was Tech Lead at Amazon, where I scaled Amazon Music's core offers and subscription eligibility platform to 700M–1.2B daily decisions and 3B+ requests/day, cut P99 latency from ~300ms to <50ms, and drove a context-propagation framework that
generated $7.5M+ in incremental annual revenue. I led two cross-functional teams of 15 engineers across 65+ global markets, and I serve as a Bar Raiser for System Design, Change Control, and Privacy & Security.
Before Amazon, I was founding engineer and Chief Software Architect at Applied Research Works, where I built an AI-powered cloud EHR platform adopted by 10+ clients and owned the full ML lifecycle — training infrastructure, feature engineering, evaluation, and
real-time inference — for CHF, COPD, CKD, Diabetes, and elderly fall-risk prediction models deployed into Epic, Elation, and Cerner, enabling $2M+ in revenue.
