Giving back is very important to me. I’ve been a dancer for my entire life and I eventually grew into a dance teacher as I moved to high school, college and beyond. I’ve loved teaching dance and even began teaching a special education dance class in recent years. I also do additional volunteer work with children and adults with developmental disabilities outside of work.
One thing that I love about my job is that I’m able to serve as a partner through the admissions process. When a student tells me that I made the admissions process easy for them to complete I know that I’ve helped make a difference. I remember that the admissions process when I applied to college was a hassle and challenging. I don’t want any of my students to have to experience that when they apply.
I love learning all about my students and their stories – their history, why they want to go to school, their life goals, and helping them to achieve it.
When I’m not working I try to get outside as often as I can. Whether it’s 80 or 8 outside, I always try to find an outdoor activity. I love snowboarding (which is great since I live in Buffalo) but I also have both my boating and motorcycle license. I hate missing concerts, especially in the summertime, and I’m not picky when it comes to music. Whether it’s country, hip hop or rock, I’m always happy to see live music.
