I view the world differently.
In May of 2008 I was diagnosed with thirteen tumors on my spine (lucky me). I used social media to get through six months of exhaustive chemotherapy, pain and isolation. Social networks have helped me through sickness, advanced my career and led me to the love of my life.
After my recovery I set out to help others by becoming an advocate for cancer fighters everywhere. I am one of the social voices behind IHadCancer.com a site trying to become a movement that connects Fighters, Supporters and Survivors like myself, in acknowledgment that shared stories can make all the difference.
When I am not helping others fight cancer, I am a Partner at Spherical Communications and was most recently the Director of Digital Media for the Vikram Chatwal Hotel Group in NYC . After 30 conventional years in the hospitality industry, I started doing physical meet-ups of early Twitter adopters at The Roger Smith Hotel. Besides this page you may have seen me in posts by Econsultancy, Techipedia , in the books Engage!, The Twitter Job Search Guide or speaking at SXSWi, #140Conf, Mashable/CNN Media Summit and Business Development Institute. Also an avid cyclist.
