I am the appointed Managing Director of the Bertalanffy Center for the Study of Systems Science (BCSSS) in Vienna, an Austrian independent research institute, internationally acknowledged as an ambassador for the systems science heritage and present state-of-the-art applied systems research.

Since 1999 I worked as a business developer and consultant with broad business design experience in Fortune TOP 500 industries, and the service sector as well as in public administration and cultural and educational organizations internationally from Europe to China.

I taught at several Universities and in professional management training programs in Austria, Germany, China and the USA. I am currently part time university lecturer and thesis supervisor at the Upper Austria University of Applied Sciences Campus Steyr and the Danube University Krems in Austria, teaching entrepreneurship, leadership, creativity and innovation, innovation management, future studies, and applied systems, complexity, and network theory.

I am an active member in several international scientific communities dedicated to social and technological innovations and systems science and research. I manage the European Meetings on Cybernetics and Systems Research (aka emcsr avantgarde) since 2012 and serve the International Society for the Systems Sciences (ISSS) as Chair on Socio-Ecological Systems and Design since 2015. I served the International Federation for Systems Research (IFSR) as Vice President for four years (2012-2016).

I am one of the co-founders of the international Change the Game Innovation Lab @BCSSS (former: Change the Game Initiative), a network of gamechangers united by their interest in innovation, ethics and leadership.

I am founding editor of the journal Systema: Connecting Matter, Life, Culture and Technology, scientific advisor of: JeDEM – eJournal of e-Democracy and Open Government, editorial board member of the International Journal of Markets and Business Systems, next to guest editing and reviewing for several other international peer-reviewed journals.
