I'm a born and raised Midwesterner, currently residing in Nashville while I earn my MBA at Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management. Marketing and brand management are my concentrations of choice; I thrive on the challenge that comes from working through problems to develop solutions that build brands and move them forward. When I'm not studying I'm out and about exploring this great city with friends, finding live music, or planning my next adventure.
Random facts about me:
1. I'm the middle child of three, with two brothers. Thanks to their influence, I have a laid-back approach to life, am an 18-handicap golfer and can throw a spiral on a football.
2. Prior to school I lived and worked in Chicago, IL, my favorite city in the US. I made it through seven winters before I decided enough was enough.
3. I lost a bet on a ski trip with friends one winter, and had to spend the weekend snowboarding instead of skiing. I haven’t gone back to skis since.
4. I spent six months studying abroad in Florence, Italy. I still have conversations with myself (yes, with myself) to be sure I don't forget the language.
5. I refuse to buy professional photography of cities because I believe I should travel to those places and take pictures myself.
6. I volunteered as a foster parent for dogs at our local animal shelter. I took in dogs to work on behavior and initial obedience training. I had nine foster dogs before I ended up keeping one…he’s called a “foster failure.”
7. I was a waitress/bartender for seven years. I believe that every person should work in a service job at some point in their life, to understand how over 112 million Americans earn a living.
8. On vacation in Alaska, my brothers and I spontaneously went for a swim in Glacier BayNational Park next to several icecaps. It was my favorite vacation to date, and the coldest I’ve ever been.
9. I spent 3 weeks backpacking around Europe. I learned that I can live with a lot less than I thought.
10. I'm the manager (and pitcher) of an intramural co-ed softball team, and have been for five seasons...we're league champions for three years running!
