Hello! I'm John Buckley and I'm a Health Professions Advisor in the Center for Health Profession Studies at the University of Delaware. My pronouns are He/Him/His.
My goals: Explore your inspiration, motivation, and developing identity as a healthcare professional; Build awareness of health professions; Help you take action to meet admission requirements and build professional competencies toward a successful application.

I came to advising in 2014 after 5 years in mental health and non-profit work. As a Pre-College Advisor at Upward Bound at Wichita State University, I developed a love for student engagement in helping first generation college students envision and pursue their future. My graduate work included an assistantship in student activities and practica in advising professional development and practice. I came to the University of Delaware in 2022 after over 4 years advising Psychology, Neuroscience, Biology, and Business majors at UT-Knoxville and close to two years of work with deciding and pre-professional students at the University of Kansas where I collaborated with a team to develop a major exploration pathway program.
My personal interests include cycling, camping, hiking, mindfulness, cooking, music, politics, social justice, and community arts/music culture.
