Buddhimathie Jayasekera

I am Buddhimathie Jayasekera but everyone calls me Buddhi. I was born and raised in Sri Lanka. I did my undergraduate studies in Chemistry and Biology and later took Chemistry as a special subject. After graduating, I worked as a Lecturer in Chemistry. In the meantime I decided to continue studies and as a result, I came to Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan in United States for my graduate studies in Chemistry. There I did some interesting research in Inorganic Chemistry and was even able to publish five journal publications of my work. I graduated with a Ph.D. after five years. During my studies, I also worked as a Teaching Assistant in the Chemistry Department at Wayne State University, where I had the opportunity to teach the undergraduates.
After coming to Canada, I worked at University of Toronto at Scarborough campus as an Instructional Assistant to teach first year undergraduates with chemistry tutorials.
I always loved teaching and decided to become a high school teacher.
I live in Mississauga with my husband and two children.
