Benjamin Budka

Hello! My name is Benjamin Budka and I am an eighteen year old college freshman at the University of Georgia. I was born in Florida, but my family moved to a suburb of Chicago when I was only one year old (plus it is far more exciting to tell people that you are from Chicago rather that Saint Petersburg). My family moved to Lilburn, Georgia (basically Stone Mountain) right before I began the second grade. Some of my interests include listening to and playing music, playing video games and, as of moving into my dorm, eating at the dinning commons with friends. I got my first job this summer as an ice-cream scooper at the Brusters near my house. It was, surprisingly, a lot more fun than I expected it to be, and I was very sad to leave it behind. But I never saw myself having a career in an ice-cream parlor. What I want to do is what my father does. My father is an audio engineer for Turner Studios in Atlanta. He has worked in the business for many decades, and he has done many events, from Super Bowls and NBA Playoffs, to the Olympics and talk show television. He's even won a few Emmys for his work. Because of him, I would like to major in Digital and Broadcast Journalism at the Grady College of Communication here at UGA. I am looking forward to a great first year of college here at the University of Georgia!
