Buffie Williams earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Journalism/Advertising and Master’s of Science in Community Counseling and Psychology from Troy University. Buffie joined the Student Support Services team in October of 2005 and has been working in TRIO since 2000. As Coordinator of Student Support Services, Ms. Williams strives to develop and maintain trusting, professional relationships within her field and the mental health and treatment community. As emotional issues have touched her life through family and friends, she is very passionate about bringing education of the disease and transitional recovery to the community. Buffie brings dedication, hard work, and a compassionate heart to all that she does. Prior to her current position, Buffie was the Curriculum Coordinator at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. Her hands-on training, experience and professionalism make her highly skilled at assessing clients' history and needs, making treatment recommendations and guiding clients and their families through the admissions process.
Buffie also has a strong passion for yoga. She will complete her 200-hour Teacher Training at Birmingham Yoga in May of this year. Buffie specializes in teaching yoga to clients in recovery.
She is married to Henry J Williams and they have four beautiful children Bree, Jordan, Keenya and Ashley.
Identified specialty area(s): Industrial Counseling with a primary focus on doctors, attorney's, political figures, professional athletes, professional entertainers models, actors, etc. and their families who have addiction /therapeutic maintenance or life transition issues.
