Thank you for visiting my about.me page.
This page is the result of an assignment for Digital Educators in which I am not only to introduce myself, but discuss why having a digital presence is "essential" for educators and students.
Although I believe I can be, and have proven to be, a successful educator without creating an on-line presence, the truth is there are very few people on the planet who do not have an on-line presence and I believe that once you have one, it is essential that you maintain as much control over it as possible. In the case of educators, students, families, and communities will no doubt take interest in my curriculum and, through extension, my life. Sharing the important aspects of my work life and maintaining as much control as possible over my personal time is worthy of the effort needed for all involved parties.
For much of my life, even currently, people find it easier to pin me down by one of my interests, but I've never been fond of that and continue to add new interests. In addition, I'm a huge introvert (look up INFJ...there is a photo of me near most definitions you'll find, I think...or, there should be) so I only really share bits and pieces of myself leaving most to wonder about the rest.
I am currently a high school choir director basing my teaching both on my experiences as a performer as well as my B.A. in Music from Humboldt State University and M.A. in Music Education from Boston University, a massage therapist, and a photographer. I love all of these and reserve the right to add to the list should I find another thing that I love to do.
Come watch me wander a while...
