I'm Marta, a 30-something HR professional from Florida, USA. Throughout my career, there was always an element of travel, albeit usually courtesy of my car or domestically through the States. Living in Florida, cruises were synonymous with a weekend getaway and I was lucky enough to get a two-week vacation (twice!) to explore some of Europe.

A few years ago, along with a friend, we decided to take a break from our urban lives and full-time careers to travel the world with backpacks as Blonde and Redhead Backpacking (#BRBtravels). Kara, my blonde counterpart kept to her end of the 8-10 month adventure and is now back in the land of adulting. Me.... not so much.

I'm starting this site a little backwards, as I'm already on month 15 of an epic 'round the world trip, but I'll do my best to finally put "pen to paper" and provide some details on how, when, why, and where I've ended up. In providing my family and friends with an account of my journey, hopefully I'll also inspire and assist with some practical information for all of you fellow wanderlusters out there.
