I am a multiple award-winning broadcast journalist, news editor, producer, and podcaster. My journalism career spanned almost two decades, working with public (Radio Nigeria) and private media (Radio Now) houses as well as media development and civic-tech organisations.
I have worked as a commissioned reporter for The UN’s IRIN Radio- an international Radio to report HIV/AIDS, Safe motherhood in Nigeria, the Abidjan–Lagos Corridor Organisation ALCO, to produce reports on HIV/AIDS along the transport corridors of Nigeria. ALCO is an organization saddled with the responsibility of reducing HIV/AIDS transmission along the corridors of Five West African states- Nigeria, the Republic of Benin, Cote d’Ivoire, Togo, and Ghana, the West Africa News Media and Development Centre (WANAD) also on HIV and AIDS in the five African countries and Code for Africa - a Civic-Tech and Journalism Initiative, producing data driven-reports In Nigeria. I have worked in several rural and coastal communities in Lagos and neighbouring states (Ogun, Oyo, and Osun), investigating the plight of women and children in deprived communities.
I produced a weekly radio program called Searchlight, which seeks to investigate corruption and the lack of accountability in Nigeria’s private sector. I have also produced Pivotal(a TV program aired on Channels Television) that took a critical look at the Nigerian economy.
I am the Media Ambassador for The New HIV/AIDS Vaccine and Microbicides Advocacy Society, NHVMAS Nigeria. I am an alumna of the US Government Exchange Program (IVLP), a member of the Holland Alumni Network, the International News Media Association- INMA, the Women’s Global Investigative Journalism Network, and a member of Wole Soyinka’s Centre for Investigative Journalism, Report Women Network.
I am a volunteer career mentor at The Skill Out School Foundation, Abuja. I am the immediate past Vice Chairperson of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Lagos State Chapter (2019-2025).
I am the publisher of heapnews.ng, a digital news platform.
I am also a commissioned reporter with scidev.net, a science-oriented media organisation.
I recently covered the UNFCCC COP30 in Belem, Brazil, through a joint fellowship programme of the Stanley Centre for Peace and Security and Earth Journalism Network- EJN
I am open to reporting projects around women, children, public health, the environment, and climate change in under-reported, rural communities and peri-urban areas.
