Burgos Kennels

Virginia pet owners have been boarding their dogs and cats at Burgos Kennels since 1992. The facility is located on an expansive property, conveniently located 15 minutes outside of Fredericksburg. Burgos Kennels was founded by experienced dog trainer Rick Burgos, who continues to provide his expert guidance during daily operations.
Rick Burgos remained involved in all aspects of construction when designing Burgos Kennels. He had three aspects in mind when overseeing the building of the facility: hygiene, exercise, and protection from the elements. One of the easiest materials to clean is concrete, so Burgos decided on this construction for the flooring at Burgos Kennels. As a competitive dog trainer, Burgos knows the importance of regular exercise for animals, so he made sure that each pet space at Burgos Kennels would contain a roomy 100 square feet. Boarders have room to play and run around within their own area at Burgos Kennels. All enclosures are covered with a sturdy roof, which gives pets shelter from the sun, snow, and rain.
Burgos Kennels is unique in that its founder has an international reputation as a professional dog trainer. Rick Burgos’ vast knowledge of dogs propelled him towards a career in international dog training competitions. Twice, he was selected to represent the United States at the WUSV World Championships, and he placed as high as third in the Schutzhund National Championships. Rick Burgos remains knowledgeable about the physical and emotional needs of dogs, and he brings this experience to his work at Burgos Kennels.
