Bushra Abdelhalim
Chicago, Illinois, United States
Decorating parade floats. Gathering sponsors. Conceptualizing events, organizing registration, and putting together programs.
These are all tasks that aren’t in a media and communications intern’s job description, but while putting together a conference for more than 5,000 attendees, my motto was “whatever it takes”. That’s the way I’ve always regarded my work.
I am a Fall ’13 graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago. I majored in English, posses a minor in Communications, and my passions and areas of expertise include Content marketing, social media, and research. Not only are these my passions, but also I believe these skills are the foundation for any digital, marketing and communications professional.
Being an English major, a communications minor at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), a blogger, having interned at the office in a local community center, temped at a Fortune 100 company and volunteered my time for various causes, I have gained experience beyond the traditional courses. My internships provided me with an increased proficiency in technology and have given me a better understanding of different types of individuals from all backgrounds.
I’m known for being dedicated, ambitious, and driven. I throw my entire self into a project and don’t come back up for air until I see satisfactory results. I have a thirst for knowledge, and a knack for learning that is applied to anything I dedicate myself to.
